Use video to show the impact on the human condition

Is there a reason to use video in corporate communication? I think so!

Please listen to my short interview with Albert Maruggi, social media expert and president of Provident Partners. Not only does the use of video make a message more engaging, but it also allows you to show how your product or service impacts the human condition!

    Hi Gary and Albert,

Good piece on the value of video in communications. And delivering this content via a blog, so easily, makes Netbriefings even more interesting.

Albert, maybe one day you can share thoughts about lighting in an office situation. I noticed that just by putting a couple of clip-on incandescent lights on my monitor and pointing them at me, my webcam images were much better. I still haven’t figured out how to do the back-lighting, but good front lights are making a lot of difference.

    Keep up the good work,

Hey Gary sorry so late in noticing this, better get my RSS feeds organized better. The best way to light for an office is good lamps in front but I’d put them at 45 degree angles so as not to produce too much light straight on, or a shadow that is noticeable by the camera.

Also you need to get away from a window if it is behind you. I’d much rather see you facing the window, that is to say, take advantage of the natural light by having it be in front of you and behind the camera. does that make sense?

Here’s a neat back lighting trick, get a couple of can lamps you put on the floor and either stand them below camera level or tilt them so they are on the wall behind you. Play around with it til you get it the way you like. that’s a pro effect that you can recreate inexpensively.

Hope this helps, thanks for watching.
